How can we help?
Quick answers for installing, using and licensing CleanKeys.
Install CleanKeys
- Download the DMG from the CleanKeys website.
- Open it and drag CleanKeys to Applications.
- Open CleanKeys from Applications. macOS may ask you to confirm opening an app downloaded from the internet.
Allow Accessibility access
Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility, then enable CleanKeys. This permission is used only to block keyboard input during cleaning; CleanKeys does not record what you type.
Unlock after cleaning
Use Touch ID or the mouse-operated PIN shown by CleanKeys. The keyboard remains blocked until the deliberate unlock completes.
Use Menu Bar Only mode
Open Settings and enable Menu Bar Only. The Dock icon and main window close while CleanKeys remains available from its menu bar icon. You can reopen the window or Settings from that menu.
Multiple displays
The cleaning screen automatically covers every connected display so moving the pointer to another screen does not interrupt the cleaning session.
Recover a licence
Use the licence recovery page with the email address used at checkout. For privacy, the page never confirms whether an address has a purchase.
Move your licence to another Mac
In CleanKeys, open Settings → Licence and choose Deactivate This Mac. This immediately frees one of your three activation slots. Install CleanKeys on the other Mac and enter the same licence key. If the old Mac is unavailable, contact support and we can remove its activation for you.
Request a refund
Email [email protected] within 14 days of purchase. Refunds return to the original payment method and revoke the licence. Statutory rights remain unaffected.
