Terms of Use

CleanKeys is a macOS app sold with a personal, permanent licence. One licence can be activated on up to three Macs owned or used by the purchaser.

The free trial lasts seven consecutive days from the first time the app starts the trial. When the trial ends, a permanent licence is required to keep using CleanKeys.

You may not resell or share your licence key, redistribute the app, bypass its activation limits, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows this.

Stripe processes payments. Our 14-day refund policy appears below. It is an additional promise from us and does not reduce any consumer rights you already have under applicable law.

CleanKeys depends on macOS features and an online licence service for trial checks, activation, recovery, and occasional licence validation. A previously activated permanent licence remains usable while temporarily offline. We may update the app or its online services, but this does not remove rights attached to an existing purchase.

Nothing in these terms limits rights or liability that cannot legally be limited. We may update these terms when the product, service, or law changes. The effective date above shows when this version took effect.

Privacy Policy

CleanKeys has no advertising or analytics, does not use tracking cookies, and does not sell personal data.

• For the trial: a random device identifier and the trial start and expiry dates.
• For a permanent licence: a hashed licence identifier, random identifiers for activated Macs, activation dates, and the last validation date.
• For purchases and licence recovery: the purchase email, Stripe checkout and payment identifiers, purchase date, refund status, and an hourly recovery-request counter linked to a hashed email address.

These records are used only to supply the product, operate the trial and licence, prevent abuse, and meet legal or accounting obligations. The legal bases are performance of the purchase contract, legitimate interests in protecting the licence service, and legal obligations.

Stripe separately processes payment, card, invoice, and receipt information; CleanKeys does not receive or store full card details. Cloudflare hosts the website, API, and database and may process ordinary request metadata such as IP addresses. Resend sends licence and recovery emails.

Purchase and licence records are kept for as long as they are needed to provide the permanent licence and meet legal or accounting duties. Trial and activation records are kept for as long as needed to enforce the trial and activation limit. Recovery rate-limit records are kept while the recovery service operates.

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may ask to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the use of your personal data, and you may have a right to data portability or to complain to a data-protection authority. Some transaction records may still need to be retained. Send requests to [email protected].

CleanKeys uses macOS Accessibility access only to block keyboard input during cleaning mode. It does not use this permission to record or read what you type.

Refund Policy

CleanKeys is a digital product delivered immediately after purchase.

If CleanKeys is not right for you, email [email protected] within 14 days of purchase for a full refund.

Refunds are returned to the original payment method and revoke the licence. Your statutory rights remain unaffected, including where the software is faulty or not as described.
