CleanKeys has no advertising or individual analytics, does not use tracking cookies, does not track how people use the app, and does not sell personal data. The website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics for anonymous, aggregate statistics such as visits, page views, page paths, referring sites, approximate country, device and browser types, and page performance. It does not use cookies or persistent visitor identifiers, and its reports do not provide us with IP addresses or individual browsing histories.

The service keeps anonymous aggregate daily counts of downloads, checkout activity, purchases, refunds, invitations, support operations, and delivery failures. These totals contain no IP addresses, email addresses, cookies, device identifiers, referrers, locales, browsing histories, app-usage data, or linked customer journeys.

• For the trial: a random device identifier and the trial start and expiry dates.
• For a permanent licence: a hashed licence identifier, random identifiers for activated Macs, activation dates, and the last validation date.
• For purchases and licence recovery: the purchase email, Stripe checkout and payment identifiers, purchase date, refund status, and an hourly recovery-request counter linked to a hashed email address.
• For an invited free licence: the email address, invitation and short-lived verification records, issue date, and licence record.
• For support: the sender address, subject, message content, attachment names and sizes, replies, and related licence information needed to answer the request.

These records are used only to supply the product, operate the trial and licence, prevent abuse, and meet legal or accounting obligations. The legal bases are performance of the purchase contract, legitimate interests in protecting the licence service, and legal obligations.

Email addresses are used only to verify, deliver, and recover licences and to respond to support you request. CleanKeys does not send newsletters or promotional emails and does not use email addresses for advertising.

Stripe separately processes payment, card, invoice, and receipt information; CleanKeys does not receive or store full card details. Cloudflare hosts the website, API, and database and may process ordinary request metadata such as IP addresses. Resend sends licence and recovery emails.

Purchase and licence records are kept for as long as they are needed to provide the permanent licence and meet legal or accounting duties. Trial and activation records are kept for as long as needed to enforce the trial and activation limit. Recovery rate-limit records are kept while the recovery service operates. Resolved support conversations are deleted after 12 months.

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may ask to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the use of your personal data, and you may have a right to data portability or to complain to a data-protection authority. Some transaction records may still need to be retained. Send requests to [email protected].

Local permission

CleanKeys uses macOS Accessibility access only to block keyboard input during cleaning mode. It does not use this permission to record or read what you type.
